konketsu:

for my fellow asians who do not speak their mother tongue, you are every bit an asian as your brothers and sisters who unlike you can only speak their native language. for the asians who feel ‘less asian’ because they grew up in an entirely different country as their parents did and have never seen ‘home’, you are still one of us. for the asians who struggle with their own identity and know nothing about their ancestors, their roots, their culture because they have had to assimilate into a different culture at a young age to survive, you are still one of us. for the asians who do not only have ‘pure’ asian backgrounds, it does not matter, you are still one of us and have every right to celebrate your culture while being part of 2 or more. for the asians who feel like strangers in their own homes, you have every right to embrace your roots however you wish and even if you struggle to connect with just yourself, know that you are not alone.
